Travelling to/from Saudi Arabia during Umrah/Hajj season


Below are the travel requirements for passengers travelling to/from Saudi Arabia during Umrah/Hajj season.

Flights will arrive at and depart from Terminal 1 at Jeddah Airport.

**Between 30 May 2023 and 28 June 2023 Muslim passengers with business, tourist or visit visa can’t travel to Jeddah, Madinah, Taif or Yanbu but can travel from these cities.

Below are the travel requirements for passengers travelling to/from Saudi Arabia during Umrah/Hajj season.

  • Female passengers:
    • Women under the age of 45 must be accompanied by a Mahram (a male member of their immediate family) for Hajj. The Mahram’s name must be endorsed on the visa. If a female passenger is travelling with a group of pilgrims, the group leader can act as a Mahram.
    • Women over the age of 45 may travel within a tour group and without a Mahram provided they submit a notarised letter of no objection from someone who could be considered their Mahram, authorising travel for Hajj with the named group.
  • Non-GCC nationals with Hajj visa can only travel to/from Jeddah, Madinah, Taif or Yanbu.
  • Citizens of the GCC countries with Hajj permit, can travel to/from Jeddah, Madinah, Taif or Yanbu and other destinations in Saudi Arabia.
  • Citizens of the GCC countries travelling to Jeddah, Madinah, Taif, or Yanbu for purposes other than performing Hajj, need to sign a pledge form stating their purpose of travel and confirming that they will not wear the Ihram.
  • Muslim passengers holding business, visit, or tourist visa can’t travel to Jeddah, Madinah, Taif or Yanbu between 30 May 2023 and 28 June 2023, however, they can travel to any other destination in Saudi Arabia. This does not apply to:
    • Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj and Umrah.
    • Guests of the Ministry of Media who will cover the 2023 Hajj season.
    • Passengers holding visit visas for business, media events, doctors, exports and diplomats, travelling to Jeddah, Madinah, Taif or Yanbu from 30 May 2023 to 28 June 2023 inclusive, must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
  • Muslim housemaids/drivers accompanying GCC nationals must hold Hajj visa to clear immigration in Jeddah or Madinah.
  • Non-Muslim housemaids/drivers accompanying GCC nationals are not permitted to enter Jeddah, Madinah, Taif and Yanbu between 21 May 2023 and 27 June 2023 inclusive.

DMW: Funds for unpaid OFWs in Saudi Arabia already in place

Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Toots Ople announced that the funds for the unpaid claims of former overseas Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia are already in place.

“Malinaw at damang dama namin ‘yung commitment ng Saudi Arabia. Significant progress na ang nakamit namin,” Ople said in a press briefing.

Ople said that they did no longer ask for the amount of the funds set aside by the Saudi government but she was assured by Minister Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, who heads the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, that it can cover all the claims of thousands of OFWs.

“The payment will be made. The payment is now allocated, ‘yun pong full amount is already allocated and with the Ministry of Finance,” DMW Undersecretary Bernard Olalia also said.

Ople said that their Saudi counterparts asked for more time to validate all the claims.

“Hiling lang nila ay konti pang oras para matiyak nila na nasa tamang proseso at legalidad ang pagkuha ng claims,” the secretary added.

“They said that by next month, which is June, they may be able to give us more details. If not June, at least in the coming months,” she added.

One person was injured and a vehicle was damaged yesterday (Thursday), when the wall of a building in Jeddah governorate collapsed.

The field teams of the civil defense in the governorate began the incident, where the injured were taken to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care.

Customer has right to cancel order if e-store delayed by 15 days

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce has confirmed that the customer has the right to cancel the purchase process if the e-store has delayed in delivering the order of a period exceeding 15 days, unless there was another date for delivery.

It has clarified that the customer has also the right to get a refund with what he paid after canceling the order request, or any costs incurred from that, in the event of a delay in the order’s arrival, unless the store had a strong reason that led to the delay.

The ministry said that the e-store has the right to notify the customer if there will be a delay in delivering the order if they were facing obstacles that may affect the agreed delivery date.

The customer has the right to continue completing the order after getting notified that the delivery date has been modified, or to cancel it.

Weather Forecast for Monday

Riyadh, Jan 09, 2023, SPA — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued its daily forecast report for the weather in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


The report said that the moderate and torrential thundershowers, accompanied by active winds will be forecasted to fall on some parts of Makkah, Madinah, Baha, Eastern, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, Northern Borders and Jawf regions and the fog will be seen on the said regions, reducing the horizontal sight.


The report added that Northern Borders, Jawf, Tabuk, Hail, Madinah and Makkah regions will witness low temperatures and the snow will fall on the heights of Tabuk region ( Jabal Al-Lawz, Alaqan and Dhuhr).


The report showed that the surface wind movement in the Red Sea will be northerly to northwesterly at speed of 20-40km/h, on the northern and central parts and southeasterly to southwesterly at speed of 20-40km/h on the southern part, reaching 45km/h on the central and southern parts, with occurring of thunderstorms, while the surface wind movement in the Arabian Gulf will be northerly to northeasterly, gradually turning easterly at speed of 10-25km/h on the southern part and southwesterly to southeasterly at speed of 20-40km/h on the northern part, reaching 45km/h, with occurring of thunderstorms .

Inabisuhan ng Philippine Embassy Sa Riyadh ang mga OFWs na may Pending na Claims sa Saudi Oger Ltd na magrehistro sa “Eqaq Platform” ng personal at ilagay ang mga kailangan dokyumento.

This call for registration and submission of the required documents are only for former Saudi Oger Ltd. employee who have previously submitted their claim. If you were a former employee of Saudi Oger Ltd. and still need to submit a claim to the liquidation trustees, please submit your claim through: claims@saudiogerb.com.

Furthermore, the Embassy reminds that the last day of registration and submission of the required documents is on 19 JANUARY 2023 (Thursday). Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are available on the website.

EHQAQ PLATFORM LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS

Each employee must initiate registration in the Ehqaq platform, complete the procedures for activating and I authenticating the account, and complete the submission of the required data and documents, to obtain feedback on the submitted claims and avoid the possibility of their rejection, according to the following steps:

  • Log in to the platform’s main page, choose to register a new account, then follow the steps.
  • After successful registration, you can log in to the platform and enter your username and password, where you will see the data form you need to fill out.
  • You must complete the form, fill in the required data, and attach the correct attachments accurately so that this procedure does not result in the rejection of your claim or delay in accepting it.
  • After filling out the form and if you have an active account in the Absher government platform, you must enter the activation code number sent to the mobile number linked to your ID number in the Absher government platform when submitting the application.
  • If you reside outside the Kingdom and do not have an active account in the Absher government platform, you will be asked to attach a video documenting your identity in addition to your photo with a white background. You will be asked when submitting the application to enter the activation code number sent to the entered mobile number starting at registration.
  • After submitting the application, it will be registered on the platform and under review. It will be approved electronically or rejected if there are observations on the data or documents submitted or in the event of failure of documentation, and the employee will be allowed to submit another application after reviewing the observations – if any.

Lumalabag sa Batas ang mga Kumpanyang nagde-delay ng Sahod – MHRSD

Ipinahayag muli ng Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) sa Saudi Arabia na, ang mga kumpanyang nagpapaliban sa suweldo ng mga manggagawa ay lumalabag sa Saudi Labor Law.

Nanawagan ang Ministri sa mga Saudi national at resident expatriates na magsumite ng reklamo tungkol sa mga paglabag sa Saudi Labor Law sa pamamagitan ng pinag-isang aplikasyon nito.

Ang HR Ministry bilang tugon sa isang pagtatanong ng mamamayan, nilinaw na ang pagkaantala ng buwanang suweldo ay maaaring umabot sa ika-10 araw ng buwan, iniisip ang tungkol sa mga kampanya ng inspeksyon ng mga naturang establisyimento

Nauna rito, sinabi ng Ministri na ang buwan ng Enero ng bawat taon ay itinuturing na petsa para sa pagsusuri sa sarili ng kumpanya.

Binigyang-diin ng ministeryo ang pangangailangan ng “self-evaluation, dahil ito ay may mahalagang papel sa pagtulong sa mga kumpanya na matukoy ang kanilang pagsunod sa mga regulasyon at alituntunin at upang itama ang mga pagkakamali at pagkakamali.

The report said that light, moderate and torrential thundershowers, accompanied by active winds are still forecasted to hit some parts of Riyadh and Eastern regions, while the sky will be partly cloudy, accompanied by thunderstorms on some parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Baha and Makkah regions.


The report added that the fog will be seen on some parts the said regions, as well as some parts of Northern Borders, Tabuk, Jawf, Hail and Qassim regions, reducing the horizontal sight and the northern regions of the Kingdom will be forecasted to witness frost.


The report showed that the surface wind movement in the Red Sea will be northerly to northwesterly at speed of 15-35km/h, on the northern and central parts and northeasterly to southeasterly at speed of 20-40km/h on the southern part, reaching more than 45km/h, with occurring of thunderstorms, while the surface wind movement in the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly at speed of 10-30km/h on the northern part and easterly to the northeasterly, gradually turning northerly to northwesterly at speed of 18-38km/h, on southern part, reaching more than 45km/h, with occurring of thunderstorms.

Saudi Arabia Citizen rescues a child from floods in Madinah

MADINAH — Saudi citizen Mazen Al-Juhani succeeded in saving the life of a child from floods in Madinah.

According to Al-Ekhbariya, Al-Juhani, a soldier in the Special Emergency Forces, said that he responded to a call from his nephew while he was in the house.

She told him that a kid was struggling and stuck in the torrents.

He immediately went to the area where the child was, saw that the child was stuck in a rocky area in the stream in the Al-Azizia neighborhood of Madinah.

He said, that all indications were that the child had fallen and got stuck for hours in the middle of rainwater pools.

Due to Al-Juhani’s experience and practice in the field of rescue, he was able to successfully save the child in less than half an hour.

He said that his hand was injured during the rescue attempt. “When I descended into the valley, I slipped, and hurt my hand. But the safety and survival of the child is of utmost important, and I soldiered on and succeeded,” he stressed.

He said that when he reached the child, all he saw was a frightened and shivering child following his long ordeal in the cold water.

“I talked to him, calmed him down and only after winning his confidence that I was able to save him,” he added.

The rescue attempt and the eventual rescue got traction in social media. The video of the moment Al-Juhani rescuing the child from the floods, with the help of the people of the neighborhood in the rescue operation, went viral and received great interaction.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development issued a decision to withdraw the licenses of 9 recruitment offices and suspend the activity of 17 offices for two months as an alternative penalty, for violating the regulations and regulations of the labor system during the months of June and July 2022.

This comes within the Ministry’s efforts to follow up and continuously monitor the recruitment sector, to ensure the implementation of the decisions issued by it, which would preserve the rights of employers, and develop the sector. Its Musaned platform continues its work on developing the recruitment sector and providing multiple services to improve and facilitate the quality of services provided to individuals, and resolve complaints and disputes that may occur between the parties to the contractual relationship.

The ministry calls on everyone to report any violations related to the recruitment sector by calling the unified number (19911), or through the ministry’s application available through smart phone devices.
