DOH: Close contacts ng BA.2.12 positive, asymptomatic

MANILA, Philippines – Hindi nagpapakita ng sintomas sa COVID-19 ang lahat ng close contact ng dayuhang unang kaso ng BA.2.12 Omicron subvariant sa bansa, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).

Napag-alaman ng DOH na mayroong ang COVID positive na babaeng Finnish na dumating sa Pilipinas noong Abril 2 ay may 44 close contact – siyam sa Quezon City, lima sa Benguet, at 30 habang sakay ng commercial flight papuntang Maynila.

Sa 30 airplane close contact niya, 25 sa mga ito ay fully vaccinated laban sa COVID-19, ani Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Dalawa rito ang may negatibong resulta ng swab test, aniya.

Dalawang iba pa ang first dose pa lang ng bakuna, isa sa kanila ay may negatibong resulta ng swab test.

May isang hindi nabakunahan ngunit iyon ay isang 7 taong gulang na bata, na ang tagapag-alaga ay fully vaccinated naman, dagdag pa ni Vergeire.

Sa huli, mayroon pa ring dalawang pasahero na bineberipika ang status ng inoculation, dagdag niya.

“As of today, wala pong nakakaranas pa ng mga sintomas sa lahat ng malalapit na contact nitong babaeng Finnish,” pagsisiguro ni Vergeire.

Samantala, ang iba pang malapit na contact ng Omicron subvariant case sa Quezon City at Baguio City ay “asymptomatic as of this time,” ani Vergeire.

Coronavirus in the Kingdom. Decreased casualties, critical cases rise and zero deaths again

Data from the Ministry of Health showed a decrease in the level of the epidemiological condition of Corona in the Kingdom, where new cases decreased, and the number of recoverers decreased during the past 24 hours, and deaths were recorded zero again.

According to these data, 102 new coronavirus infections have been recorded, down 26 from yesterday, keeping infections at their low rates that have been recorded since March 8.

Deaths also recorded zero again, after witnessing a remarkable rise yesterday with four deaths, and this is the fifth time that zero deaths have been recorded since the start of the pandemic, after being recorded four times last April. Total deaths thus stabilized at 9,093.

The number of recoverers from the virus fell today (Tuesday), recording 113 new cases, a decrease of 7 cases from yesterday, but remained at high rates compared to new infections, thus the total number of recoverers rose to 742019 out of 754,340 cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic in the Kingdom.

Critical cases rose for the third day in a row, with three intensive care cases entering, bringing the total critical cases to 52, after seeing a decline over the past weeks.
